"SA1 is thriving. It’s already a massive success, and there’s still a lot of committed development going on to make that success even greater.”
Sonia Reynolds, Regional Director South West Wales DCELLS and DE&T, Welsh Assembly Government
We’ve come a long way. And SA1 is thriving
Already we’ve proven the success of SA1. The first development of residential apartments have sold out, and major businesses are installed in high quality office buildings. SA1 nightlife is growing with cafés, bars and restaurants.
To date, the Welsh Assembly Government has invested £50m in SA1, and the private sector £150m. SA1 aims to secure around 4000 jobs, and provide over 2000 new residential properties. With two new pedestrian and cycle bridges, the new SA1 Gateway road connection, and close proximity to motorway and air links, SA1 is a sustainable extension to Swansea City Centre.
Everyone can benefit from the new social, leisure and business opportunities that SA1 presents. That’s why SA1 is a best practice benchmark for waterfront regeneration across Europe.
